The Paradox of Seeking “Enlightenment”
Here’s the paradox: you’re always as enlightened as you are unenlightened. In every moment, throughout your life – it’s the path of light (+/-).
Chasing What You Already Have
The pursuit of enlightenment is like chasing your own tail in a rat race going in circles. You’re seeking something you already possess but can’t fully see because you’ve separated what was never meant to be divided.
Think of it this way: your arms are trying to outrun your legs. Just because you're not conscious of them or don’t feel them working together doesn’t mean they’re not in sync. Enlightenment isn’t something you “find”; it’s something you integrate at different stages of awareness throughout life. History - Mistery, Known - Unknown and the cycle repeats.
Let’s Shatter The Myths of Illumination
Even the greatest sages and saints only had fleeting moments of illumination. Many of these moments emerged through trauma and extreme hardship.
Rumi, Devastated by the grief and loss of his teacher Shams (-), birthed his most profound poetry (+).
Buddha faced the suffering of life—sickness, aging, and death (-), before awakening under the Bodhi tree (+).
Guru Nanak almost drowned (-) before perceiving the vastness of the universe (+). Was it divine insight or a disassociation of body and mind? Perhaps both.
I hope it gets you thinking about how many verses, hymns, and divine scriptures were written from an unconditional state of love and gratitude, where nothing is missing. Where the seer, the seeing, and the seen are all one and the same. Or were they shaped through polarizations, infatuations, and disassociation and what makes you any less divine in that case?
These experiences reflect the dance of duality: light and dark, positive and negative, merging into a higher understanding. God forbid man walk among men and women like this in current times. The taxi driver who last dropped you off, the sales guy trying to close you on a big purchase, the business owner you saw on stage, the accountant you fired, the mom next door, your doctor you live down the street from? What moral authority would people look up to? The possibilities… What great spiritual authority would we awaken to within ourselves?
What Does Enlightenment Really Mean?
Let’s break down the word:
En: Entering into
Light: Illumination of waves (+/-)
Ment: The result of action, tied to the mind
Enlightenment = Entering into a state of illumination by integrating opposites within the mind.
It’s not about eliminating duality but embracing it. True enlightenment is understanding and synthesizing the highs and lows, the light and shadow, into a unified whole. An authentic being with a Purpose Built-Life + Business. Doing things that meaningful and providing value in fair exchange while mastering all other areas of life.
The Power of Gratitude in Duality
Gratitude isn’t just about positivity; it’s about acknowledging both sides of the coin. Those who thrive in life—whether in learning, business, or wealth-building—understand this duality:
They balance objectivity (+/-).
They master strategic planning (+/-).
They embody unconditional love (+/-), free from the limitations of one-sided expectations.
The more you embrace the feedback from life, the more moments of illumination you’ll experience.
“Light and shadow are inseparable; they dance together like day and night to create form.” – Amar Virk
The True Path: Gratitude and Growth
The more clarity you have about what you’re optimizing for, the more synthesized waves of gratitude you’ll experience—both positive and negative. These moments of illumination are the feedback loops that guide you toward fulfillment.
Life is about doing what you love while embracing challenges that inspire you. It’s about congruency with your values and living in alignment with your top priorities. This is why certain individuals are more radiant and resilient than others who bring a gravitational density and play the blame-and-shame game.
No Beginning, No End
The journey of enlightenment isn’t about escaping duality; it’s about embracing it. It’s the dance of day and night, light and shadow, expansion and contraction.
When you stop chasing the fantasy of “perfection” and start living in reality, you’ll realize the beauty of what is.
“You cannot have the light without the dark, nor the dark without the light. Together, they form the whole.” – Lao Tzu
Summary
Enlightenment is a process of integrating dualities, not escaping them. Challenges like health conditions, business struggles, financial setbacks, relationships, and traumas are not obstacles to avoid but catalysts for moments of illumination.
These experiences are feedback in disguise—guiding you toward deeper understanding and growth, even if they don’t appear in the form you expected. Gratitude and growth come from embracing both the highs and lows of life.
The paradox of enlightenment isn’t a problem to solve; it’s a reality to live.
